One of the best kept secrets in Newton County. Great place to launch a kayak. You can go up or down stream. The disc golf course is a nice addition, but don't make the trip if you are a seasoned player, not the most interesting course.
When my husband and I first moved to Porterdale, this place was kind of just a dumpy little walking track with river access, hut they've really improved it over the past couple of years. Now has a disc golf course, and better kept access to the river for kayaking, paddle boarding, etc. It's quiet and pretty, and you can swim in the summer. We walk our dogs here a lot.
Beautiful, quiet little park, right beside the River. Truly a wonderful place to go when you're feeling the need to connect with Mother Nature! One Warning: During certain times of the year, usually depending on the weather, I've seen quite a few water moccasins all over the whole area. So please just be on the lookout.
